Fallon expects to become the new COO of her father Blake's energy empire, but that job is given to Cristal, her future stepmother. Also Fallon seeks revenge by sidling up to a rival and when Cristal's nephew arrives, her past threatens her future.

When it's discovered that Matthew's death may have involved foul play, the spotlight falls on the Carringtons themselves. Cristal struggles with what it means to be a Carrington, and Fallon helps cover up Cristal's affair.

The Carringtons don their best costumes for a charity gala, and Fallon fights to use the family name in her new business venture. Also, Cristal is forced to choose between her old family and her new one.

Blake and Cristal go on their belated honeymoon. Meanwhile, Steven tries to rescue Sammy Jo, and Fallon confronts old demons from his past. The Carrington family breach the protective cocoon of their manor.
