The heroic rescue of 32 stricken seamen from a crippled oil tanker during a ferocious winter storm off the coast of Massachusetts in 1952 is solidly recounted in this gale-lashed drama. Chris Pine plays the skipper of a four-man lifeboat that sets out in treacherous seas to reach the survivors who have managed - thanks to engineer Casey Affleck - to ground aft-section of the vessel on reef.
