Gunfight At The O.K. Corral

Burt Lancaster plays Wyatt Earp and the late Kirk Douglas Doc Holliday in this classic telling of the legendary wild west shootout. Regarded by many as the definitive take on the story, it does a great line in gunslinging philosophy: "There's always a man faster on the draw than you are, and the more you use a gun, the sooner you're gonna run into that man." Interestingly, some Tombstone street scenes were shot on the same set as the TV series Bonanza. Director John Sturges went on to even greater western heights with The Magnificent Seven.
