The Kid
Chaplin’s to-be-classic Little Tramp unwillingly takes in an abandoned baby. After a rough start, where only his conscience keeps them together, he quickly softens up to the boy. After a few years, they make the most loyal team living together. That is until when the boy gets ill, and social services wants to take him away from the tramp... Chaplin’s first feature length film is widely considered one of the greatest films of the silent era, and was a huge success when first released – being the second-highest grossing film of 1921.
