The recruits settle in to their new home in Wales, at the remote barracks location. They meet the directing staff, and are asked to write an essay describing themselves.

Only 20 recruits remain after the brutal first stage, and the Directing Staff apply additional measures to expose those who believe they're weak. The recruits are then instructed to pick the one they believe is weakest.

To narrow down the remaining 12 recruits, the DS focuses on the subject of fear to see who has the potential to go through to the final phase of selection.

The DS attempt to narrow the group down from 11 to the six, to see who thinks they have what it takes to complete a harrowing 72-hour cat-and-mouse chase across harsh terrain.

The recruits enter the interrogation stage of selection, where each recruit must face specialist interrogators alone.
