Rachel decides to look up her former boyfriend, Paolo, when she is distraught over Julie, Ross' new girlfriend.

While Carol and Susan are away, Ross and the friends babysit his newborn son Ben, but Ross is disgusted when Phoebe tests the temperature of some bottled breast milk on her wrist. Meanwhile, Joey competes with a fellow cologne salesman.

When downstairs neighbour Mr Heckles dies, the friends clean out his apartment, but Chandler becomes convinced his hyper-critical nature will mean he ends up alone and sad, just like Heckles.

Everyone is surprised when Phoebe's husband, a gay Canadian ice dancer, shows up, as nobody knew she was married. Elsewhere, Chandler reveals his third nipple, and Ross's new relationship is under attack, unbeknown to him.

The gang are divided when Ross' birthday sparks an argument about income, which pits the broke Joey, Rachel and Phoebe against the wealthy Chandler, Monica and Ross.

Joey and Chandler babysit Ben, who turns out to be a babe-magnet until they accidentally leave him on a bus. Meanwhile, Phoebe loses her job as the singer at Central Perk to Stephanie.
