An experimental sci-fi film is built as a sequence of black and white pictures. The story takes place in the aftermath of a nuclear war that drove all the survivors underground. It is told by a man sent back in time to avert the catastrophe. During his trip to the past he becomes haunted by a violent childhood memory: a picture of a man shot to death and a mysterious beautiful woman. The moment he realises the connection between them, the history is doomed to repeat again. The metaphysical manipulation with the space and memory became a model for Terry Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys.
