From Me to You: Kimi ni Todoke

Teased for her spooky looks, Sawako Kuronuma receives some encouragement from her kind classmate Kazehaya and offers to be a ghost in a school event.

Sawako scares her classmates when she comes to school soaking wet, but Kazehaya and Yoshida show her some kindness. Kazehaya adopts a stray puppy.

Sawako basks in the joy of greeting her friends. Later, she volunteers to make an attendance book as requested by Pin, the temporary homeroom teacher.

A rumor spreads that Sawako is insulting her classmates Yoshida and Yano. While the two laugh off such claims, misunderstandings begin to occur.

Feeling bad for causing Yoshida and Yano trouble, Sawako puts some distance between her and her friends. Kazehaya confronts her about how she feels.

Sawako gets into a fight with a student who is gossiping about Yoshida and Yano in the bathroom. Just as things heat up, Yoshida and Yano appear.

Yoshida and Yano invite Sawako to a ramen restaurant run by Ryu’s family. After eating, the girls hang out in Ryu's room and invite Kazehaya over.

As attitudes toward Sawako begin to change, Yoshida and Yano insist she call them by their first names. Pin foists a challenging task on Kazehaya.

Enamored by Kurumi’s cuteness and kind demeanor, Sawako speaks to Chizuru and Ayane about changing her hairstyle to be more like Kurumi’s.

Sawako opens up to Kurumi, who always seems to have a smile and friendly greeting for her. Meanwhile, Ayane suspects Kurumi is up to something.

Surprised by Kurumi’s secret and request, Sawako explains why she can’t be of help to her. Hearing this, Kurumi angrily reveals her true colors.

Sawako is moved to learn that Kurumi has liked Kazehaya since junior high. Later, Ryu discovers an unexpected invitation placed in his shoe cubby.

Kazehaya takes drastic action when he sees Sawako and Ryu talking alone. After coming to his senses, he asks Sawako an important question.

Kurumi admits to Ayane and Chizuru that she was the one spreading rumors. Stunned by what she hears, Sawako makes a surprising request to her friends.

Kurumi recalls how she came to fall for Kazehaya during junior high. Inspired by Sawako’s words, she plucks up the courage to tell him how she feels.

Chizuru and Ayane visit Sawako's home for the first time. As the girls have fun, Kazehaya calls, requesting they accompany him to Pin's apartment.

Sawako senses a special bond between Chizuru and Ryu. After helping Chizuru pick a birthday present for Ryu, Sawako asks her if she likes someone.

Sawako and Ayane gather at Chizuru's home for a sleepover. Later, as Chizuru goes to give Ryu his birthday present, an unexpected person arrives.

Still shocked at Toru's engagement, Chizuru returns to Ryu’s house to hand him his present. But a cold greeting from Ryu sparks a bitter argument.

The day after her fight with Ryu, Chizuru comes to school in high spirits. That evening, the girls run into Toru on their way home from karaoke.

As the end of the second semester draws near, Kazehaya plans a Christmas party. He invites Sawako, but she’s torn between her friends and her parents.

Sawako is happy when Chizuru invites her to a shrine on New Year’s Eve. Noticing it’s also Sawako's birthday, Ayane and Chizuru prepare a surprise.

When their friends don’t show up, Sawako and Kazehaya awkwardly head to the shrine together. Ayane, Chizuru and Ryu stealthily watch them from afar.

Fed up at the shrine, Ryu tries to go home but Ayane stops him from leaving. Sawako and Kazehaya ring in the new year together and draw fortune slips.
