The Simple Life

Paris and Nicole arrive at the Nolan’s house, where they will each take turns playing the role of “traditional housewife” for a day. After meeting the family members — Shari, Doug, and their daughter Lilly — they get their marching orders. Before they can get started on the day’s chores, Shari tells them that in order to truly play her part they will have to wear a 35-pound pregnancy suit. The girls don the pregnancy suits along with Shari’s maternity clothes — which Paris comments are hideous — and tackle their first task: the dishwasher. Though they are only unloading it, they each manage to make a mess of it, and blame it on Lilly. Having grown bored with housework, Nicole decides to draw some tattoos on Lilly with a pen; and on Doug as well after he catches her in the act. Doug then asks Nicole to vacuum the house, and tells Paris to baby-proof the house. Nicole quickly tires of cleaning, and heads off to Rodeo Drive, horrifying tourists by drinking tequila shots while still wearing the pregnancy suit. Paris has finished her task, which to Doug’s dismay consisted of wrapping all the furniture in bubble wrap. Next on the list is Lamaze class, where Paris is traumatized by a natural birth video. Nicole volunteers to simulate safe sex during pregnancy. Paris then accompanies Doug on a delivery day run-through, complete with a mock gynecological exam. Nicole decides that Doug needs a last hurrah, and takes him to a strip joint, where he dutifully accepts a number of lap dances. Shari returns home to find the house a wreck, and wants a full report of Paris and Nicole’s day. They each recount the day, with Nicole even mentioning the strip club, which doesn’t please Shari. In the end Shari decides that Paris might make a better mother than Nicole, and five days later invites Paris to the birth. After cowering in a corner for the first few minutes during the C-section, Paris eventually comes around. She is happy to see Shari and Doug’s baby boy delivered.
