Sue Perkins begins her journey in Vietnam, meeting traditional river people caught up in a new capitalist revolution, trying her hand as a noodle saleswoman and prawn farmer. Continuing to Cambodia, she is moved by a survivor of Pol Pot's genocide.

In Cambodia, animal lover Sue is confronted by the most emotionally challenging and complex world of wildlife trafficking. She goes on a raid to catch bushmeat traders and releases captured animals back into the wild.
