It begins again. A quintet of quivering comics sit in awe and fear, wondering if their resourcefulness, dexterity and creativity will be enough to impress the formidable Taskmaster, Greg Davies. Perched on his regal throne, he surveys the scene in front of him and prepares to deliver his merciless verdicts on their efforts. Meanwhile, Little Alex Horne clutches his tablet and hopes he might be allowed a biscuit as reward for all his hard work. A dog biscuit, at least. The BAFTA-winning Taskmaster returns to the Channel 4 schedules with a brand new cast of hopefuls all keen as a condiment to win television's most revered gong: a vague representation of Greg Davies's head sprayed with gold paint. Those contestants are: Charlotte Ritchie, Jamali Maddix, Lee Mack, Mike Wozniak and Sarah Kendall. Together, they will be shoved through a mental and physical wringer as they try to satisfy the Taskmaster's thirst to see them make things hover, make things hiss and make things topple. Succeed, and they will feel the warm glow of the Taskmaster's kind words; fail and no sort of coat will protect them from the hard rain that he will unleash upon them. As ever, Greg's personal beard-trimmer, Alex Horne, will be diligently taking notes, recording times and offering very little assistance to the five comics as they attempt tasks that involve the perils of airport security, fashion for insects and the creative application of cling film and gaffer tape. And it's not even that kind of show!
