Carpathian Predators

It's summer in the forests of Eastern Europe's Carpathian Mountains and some of the continent's most charismatic creatures are hard at work raising their families. For a mother brown bear, she must find food for herself and her young cubs to fatten up before the arrival of winter. Meanwhile a pair of tiny lynx kittens must learn how to hunt and survive for themselves. Follow the many animals of this primeval world as they prepare for the freezing temperatures ahead and see how they coexist with humans who share this rugged landscape.

It's spring in the Carpathian Mountains and new life is stirring: tiny Eurasian wolves, born blind, deaf, and barely able to crawl. Over the next few months, it's up to the leaders of the pack to watch over the litter in a dangerous world where fewer than half the wolf pups survive to adulthood. Throughout these ancient forests, other creatures, such and lynx and wild boar, struggle to feed their young while red deer battle each other for the right to mate here in one of the wildest places left in Europe.
