Documentary 1939 37 mins Silent

Overview

Delegates arrive at the Old Assembly Rooms, Newcastle, for the Co-operative Education Convention. On a boat trip along the river, they are “depressed” by shipyard scenes of preparation for war. There are conference sessions, social gatherings, singing and the British Federation of Co-operative Youth meet. Members of the Woodcraft Folk camp out for the convention and perform various folk dances, while delegates take an Easter Monday excursion to Wallington Hall.
