About this movie

Jos Bakker is a Dutch painter living in Berlin with his German girlfriend, Lana. When she tells him that she's pregnant and that they need to change their lifestyle and maybe he should get a ?real? job, Jos freaks out and a violent fight breaks out having Jos leave.
Jos needs to decide whether he wants to keep his unattached, free-spirited lifestyle or settle down and have a family. He embarks on a self discovery journey in the city of Berlin, where parties and distractions is routine. He hangs out with his friend Luci (Lucky), a party-animal turned drug dealer who wants Jos to keep his freedom and enjoy his life, but long time Luci's friend Gotti, argues that he needs to make a mature decision on his own and honor his girlfriend's love.
Through this self discovery journey, Jos meets different characters from different cultures, each one providing a piece of his puzzle and presenting different paths he may or may not follow. Jos has two choices, either go back to his girl, change his ways and start a family or abandon himself to the lures of Luci's lifestyle and be young-and-free forever.

When I watched 'Berlin Junction' the first time I was highly impressed how the plot and story enfolds. I have been following the film from preproduction onwards, and I think Xavier Agudo managed brilliantly to bring this story with his actors to life. For the ones who are not familiar with the story behind this film: Xavier Agudo hosted a workshop for his actors, selected his main cast and created the story with them. Every scene is improvised, the director just gave them minimal directions where they are coming from and where they want to go. Besides it's uniqueness of production the film portrays nowadays Berlin very realistically. The performance of the actors is flawless. Overall - if you do like independent cinema and you are a fan of Berlin, you have to watch this film.
