Simon begins his journey around the Caribbean on the island of Hispaniola where he visits two contrasting countries: the tourist-favoured Dominican Republic, and Haiti, the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
On the second leg of his journey, Simon travels along the coast of South America and meets the owner of a traditional chattel house in Barbados.
Simon meets locals who face losing their home to construction in Nicaragua, dives in the crystal clear waters of Honduras, and witnesses the crackdown on violence in Jamaica.
