442nd will go down in US military history! They rescued the lost batallion in ITALY - -the worst part of European Campaign. Superb and very important anti racist theme! Timing of this movie was excellent! Japan was defeated in WW2, BUT WE NOW NEEDED THEIR HELP! Korean War was ON, a perfect time to show RESPECT FOR OUR NEW ALLY!Japan was perfect staging area, or "BASE" for our troops. Thank God Commie Stalinists didn't get Japan, as their giant "BASE" as they were planning to!
