I think theres something here for die heard gothic horror fans (maybe steam punk fans, lot of gauges and copper on that machine ;) ) not enough going on for me.
I FINALLY finished watching this. Cut out an hour and ten minutes, leave in the first five minutes and the last 35 minutes and you got a good short film. Keep the character of William Colcott (Richard Brake) throughout the ENTIRE movie and you got a very good film. Otherwise, The Gates is still a boring exercise in constant yapping.
Not bad.of course the actors made their part.if there were different actors this would have been 1 or 2 skulls.
For what it was, I enjoyed it despite a bit too long and untidy in approaching the plot of the haunt. However, the cinematography, acting, Victorian setting, and the horror were great.
Some good actors completely wasted in a terribly dull, boring and long movie.
