Robert Taylor stars in this medieval swashbuckler as young Scottish nobleman Quentin Durward, who becomes tangled in the 15th century power struggle between King Louis XI and his brother, the Duke of Burgundy, for control of France. Sent to France to deliver a proposal of marriage from his aging father to a beautiful young countess in order to forge an alliance between Burgundy and Scotland, Durward falls in love with his father's intended bride.
