Carlos and Paco are two very different brothers: One is enterprising and independent, the other is shy and attached to his mother. The only thing that unites them is their eagerness to inherit the apartment building owned by the matriarch of the clan, Doña Pura. When it seems that the mother has finally passed, after a long and interminable agony, to a better life, the two brothers start a mad race to liquidate the inheritance as quickly as possible: a building full of old tenants who have nowhere to go.
