About this movie

The Edge of Paradise is an exceptional documentary about Taylor Camp, a pot friendly, clothing-optional, treehouse village on a remote beach in Hawaii. Waves of hippies, surfers and Vietnam vets made their way to the end of the road on Kaua'i---where they cread the ultimate counter-culture community. The film provides a unique understanding of how a new generation challenged traditional American values in the late '60s and attempted to build a new world. The film uses first person accounts from people who lived at Taylor Camp, as well as the Campers' neighbors and the Kauai officials who finally forced them out. The candid interviews reveal how being part of the Camp shaped many lives and changed others. The remarkable photographs taken by Writer and Producer John Wehrheim during the glory days of Taylor Camp bring it vividly to life. No other community from this cultural turning point was as brilliantly documented.
