Factory night shift manager Glyn has battled with his weight for over 10 years and whilst he’s got on his bike in a sporting effort to shift the pounds he’s still struggling to shrink his 22 stone weight, his wife Louise is a chef and believes she and Glyn eat healthily but despite this she is puzzled by the way they’re piling on the pounds. Glyn’s Mum Sue makes regular visits to the Smales from her home in Wales and she too is perplexed by her fluctuating dress size With the family tree mysteriously creaking under its own weight they are desperate to get to the root of the problem and so they agree to surveillance cameras being rigged inside their home to capture what they eat. With a crack PI team following the Smale trail outside the house, if Glyn Louise and Sue scoff it, our spies will spot it and it’s not long before evidence soon emerges of a family who like to feast. Will a big fat of reality put this calorie confused clan back on track? The Smale family aren’t the only ones our cameras have been watching. With an assault course of favourite finger licking food for the guests to navigate what plate piling tactics will be put in place to ensure a Happy Buffet is had by all? And it’s bottoms up with psychologist Dr David who tests the theory that boozing is a trigger for overeating. Cameras are rigged at a wine tasting event where half the connoisseurs will be tasting alcoholic wines and the other half are given non alcoholic wine. After all the quaffing who will do the most scoffing and will this corking theory be proved?
