Jill Petterson, 13, loves fairy tales and knows most of her huge collection by heart. One night she wishes she could live in dream land forever. She finds herself, however, in the evil land of nightmares where she must confront the Sandman.

Julie Dufaux is having an unusually tough time starting at a new school. To her horror she finds that her locker is haunted by a ghost from the 1960's. She and her friend Chris decide to get to the bottom of this mystery and learn that they have the power to change the course of history and stop the worst tragedy that ever happened at the school.

Augie and Jasmine Wilson are starting at a new boarding school. This is a big adjustment for them, especially when they find out that there are a lot of strange rules. All of their suspicions are justified one night when they uncover the root of these bizarre rituals.

Charles Pemlerton Shilling III has been sent with his baby sitter to stay with his aunts in their creepy old farmhouse. The strange Dr. Vink curiously appears and guarantees the success of the theater with an old black and white horror movie he made decades ago. People become enthralled with this film and Pete decides to study it closely to figure out its magnetic appeal.

While looking for their latest pet the end of the trail leads Jed to a dilapidated house where he finds animal collars on the lawn, raw meat in the refrigerator, and a strange man inside. All the clues lead Jed to believe that the strange man in th house is a werewolf.

Claire and Andrew's babysitter, Louise, gets lost while driving them home from the amusement park. After she runs out of gas, Louise's only option is to go to the lone house on the road to use the telephone. When she fails to return after a long time, Claire and Andrew make the fatal decision to go find her, and they enter the weirdest party they've ever been to.

Mike Buckley is often tormented by a repeated nightmare in which he re-lives the tragedy of his best friend, Ricky, who died five years ago. The girl Keith Saunders has a crush on doesn't take him seriously. He decides to visit a magician who gives him a magic potion to make him confident and popular-- everything he wants to be.
