Description

In a nation decimated by ethnic rage, two brothers are divided by marriage and fate. This gripping drama based on true events focuses on the 100 horrifying days of the 1994 Rwandan genocide--when more than 800,000 people were killed in a purge by Hutu nationalists against their Tutsi countrymen. Against this terrifying backdrop is the story of two Hutu brothers--one in the military, the other a radio personality--whose relationship and private lives are forever changed by the genocide. Written and directed by Raoul Peck (HBO Films' 'Lumumba'), this picture is the first large-scale film about the atrocities to actually be shot in Rwanda in locations where the real-life events transpired. Idris Elba, Oris Erhuero and Academy Award(R)-nominee Debra Winger ('An Officer and a Gentleman') star.
