The Courtship of Andy Hardy

Academy Award winner Donna Reed (Its A Wonderful Life, From Here To Eternity) stars as an unhappy and painfully shy debutante escorted to the high school prom by Andy Hardy (Mickey Rooney), which only creates trouble between Andy and his girlfriend in The Courtship of Andy Hardy. Presiding over a divorce case and child custody battle, Judge Hardy worries about the effects of the marital breakup on the couple's daughter, Melodie (Reed). He asks his son, Andy, to help her gain self-confidence, but neither the judge, Andy--nor Andy's regular girl--expect Melodie to become quite as love struck with Andy as she does. Now, although the extra attention from the ladies gives a boost to Andy's ego, Andy must resolve matters without hurting either girl.
