Incendiary

What happens when your life is turned upside-down in a moment of unimaginable tragedy? While her son and husband are away at a soccer match, a young mother (Michelle Williams) finds herself in the throes of passion with an alluring journalist (Ewan McGregor) who lives near her tower block apartment. But their lovemaking is suddenly interrupted by a TV broadcast that shatters her reality: terrorists have bombed the soccer stadium, and her husband and son are missing. Consumed with guilt, she finds herself increasingly drawn to her husband's boss (Matthew Macfadyen), who's leading the police investigation into the bombings. Meanwhile her journalist lover seeks to console her, and before long both men find themselves at odds over a woman whose inner turmoil belies a quiet strength. Based on the novel by Chris Cleave and directed by Sharon Maguire, Incendiary is a powerfully intimate, shocking, and ultimately life-affirming emotional drama.
