The only think he ever did for her was to keep her barefoot and pregnant. This is how, he kept control over her. The only way she thought she could stop the abuse of her and the children was to cut his head off. That didn't even shut him up. He continued to verbally abuse her and tell her she had no talent or worth. In the end, she showed him! She did have talent and was well liked in Hollywood.
