I had to watch "The Doctor" for my Biomedical Ethics class. What an awesome movie! I work in the medical field and many events that took place in the movie takes place when I am working. It is sad how patients are treated at times. As a medical worker, we have to understand as Jack found out; that one day we all will be a patient as well. We must be careful how we treat people. The very thing he used every day (voice box) to insult, be insensitive, and ridicule was afflicted with cancer. However, Jack was given a second chance and became a doctor who looked past the medical chart and saw the patients as human beings.

This is an excellent movie William Hurt portrays an ext ordinary Physician with exceptional characteristics in understanding the human condition of the least of these and marginalized, I call it looking beyond where we are to some futuristic place.

Every doctor should know what it's like to be a sick and afraid patient. What a better world this would be!
