About this movie

In the throes of World War II, on a rainy morning in Auckland, a group of Allied soldiers prepare to take to the air in a B-17 Flying Fortress. The all-male crew is caught off guard by Captain Maude Garrett boarding their plane carrying a top-secret package. The presence of a woman on a military flight is unusual enough to arouse their suspicion. Just as Maude's quick wit and military knowledge is winning over the leery crew, strange happenings and holes in her backstory lead to paranoia surrounding her true mission. But this crew isn't alone in the sky... lurking in the shadows, something with sharp teeth and a taste for chaos is tearing at the heart of the vessel. Crushed between an oncoming Japanese ambush and an evil lurking within, Maude must push her limits to save the hapless crew and to protect her mysterious cargo. In SHADOW IN THE CLOUD, there's more to fear than the enemy.

Not a review, just an observation: funny how the majority of the reviews criticizing the "feminist propaganda" becrying the portrayal of men in this film are written by... Men. I'm sure it's just a coincidnece, though 😒 Gonna give it 5 stars just to put another booboo on some fragile masculinity 😂

There are a lot of layers to this movie, some could have been more developed like the love story but overall I appreciated the complexity of tying in the horror aspect and the WW II storylines. Much appreciated movie when there isn't a lot of good watching out there right now. Oh and I really loved the soundtrack throughout the film, it added a lot and the sounds were very unexpected but totally appropriate. Great job on that end.

The first 30-40 minutes where pretty good, the monsters looked cool and it all climaxed around what was in the package. It was extremely disappointing afterwards the reveal the theme shifts enterally and get derailed. The monsters as well pretty much serve no purpose after that and are never explained upon beyond watch out the goblins might getcha. Its not the worst thing and I can see the appeal, but it was pretty underwhelming it felt like they jammed two ideas together. They built up this badass woman and her dynamic with the the other characters along with this mysterious package that's seeming attracting the creatures to attack the ship all of a sudden. Only to be reveled as her baby and that the first 30 minutes is pretty much meaningless.
