The Indian Doctor

Prem and Kamini arrive in Trefelin. It's not exactly what they expected, and they're not exactly what the villagers expected either. Sharpe, the mine manager, and his wife Sylvia try to befriend the pair - but they're obviously on different wavelengths. While Prem attends to his first emergency case in the village, Kamini uses her contacts to try and get them out of this hell-hole.

Prem tries his best to fit into village life. Kamini wants to return to India - but finds herself sticking up for, and befriending a local tareaway schoolboy - Dan. Sharpe is pre-occupied with finding the diary the former doctor's missing diary. Prem receives a very strange payment for services from one of the local farmers - Ceri.

It's payback time when Dan steels Sharpe's car. He didn't bargain for the fact that he nearly runs over Kamini. She ends up defending him once again, and gets herself into trouble. Prem goes to confronts Sharpe about the diary, and realises that all is not as it seems in the household.

The x-ray van comes to town. Prem is disappointed with the turn out - but Megan rallies the miners to attend. Prem is very impressed by her. Sylvia turns on the charm with the x-ray operator - Rhys!

Amongst all the fun and frolics of the annual village fayre, Sylvia publicly humiliates a deflated Sharpe. Tom gets word that he is off to London to cut a record, but a disappointed pregnant Gina has no option but to let him go alone. Prem and Kamini are made to feel very welcome, and are finally beginning to feel at home.
