The Dark and the Wicked
Directed by Bryan Bertino
On a secluded farm, a man is bedridden and fighting through his final breaths while his wife slowly succumbs to overwhelming grief. Siblings Louise and Michael return home to help, but it doesn’t take long for them to see that something’s wrong with mom—something more than her heavy sorrow. Gradually, they begin to suffer a darkness similar to their mother’s, marked by waking nightmares and a growing sense that an evil entity is taking over their family. A SHUDDER EXCLUSIVE.
An evil entity takes over a family in this horrifying new tale from the director of The Strangers.
Cast: Marin Ireland, Michael Abbott Jr., Julie Oliver-Touchstone

creepy
I'm a fan of The Strangers, but this film was SO much better. The subtleties of the characters, the setting, the score, and the cinematography all combine to make a chilling experience without any over the top theatrics. A very good watch that I highly recommend!
Great movie! Fun to watch and keeps you engage
Mostly well paced, scares are well spaced throughout and are good. Ending was a letdown.
Excellent slow paced story with enough depths to the characters. When the scares happen, they're meaningful and effective. Doesn't rely on bloated CGI and constant jump scares. Hollywood really need to take notes because they're severely lacking on decent horrors recently. Highly recommend this film.
