The Sadness

The Sadness

Directed by Rob Jabbaz

When a virus spontaneously mutates, it gives rise to a mind-altering plague. The streets erupt into violence and depravity, as those infected are driven to enact the most cruel and ghastly things they can think of. Murder, torture, rape and mutilation are only the beginning. A young couple is pushed to the limits of sanity as they try to reunite amid the chaos. The age of civility and order is no more. There is only "The Sadness". Note: The Sadness contains graphic and extreme violence/gore, as well as brief strobe effects in the end credits.

In this extreme horror, a young couple try to reunite amid a city ravaged by a plague that turns its victims into deranged, bloodthirsty sadists.

Cast: Regina Lei, Berant Zhu, Tzu-Chiang Wang, Apple Chen, Wei-Hua Lan

That was a thoroughly demented Covid-inspired BLOODFEST. I haven't seen this much blood since Dead Alive. Frankly I was expecting more gore, but it was pretty gory. There were scenes of violence that cut away from the most violent parts in a way that Terrifier wouldn't have. This movie does have some interesting food for thought, about what would happen if we are reduced to our primal urges, powerless to stop them. Bleak ending but otherwise a nightmarish thrill ride.

a pizza cutter of a movie. all edge, no point. just shocking scenes and violence.

While this is a hardcore gorefest and depraved horror I think the thing that really stands out is the idea of this Alvin virus and it's effects on people.

This movie goes completely off the rails quickly , and I enjoyed every minute of it. Some of the most twisted and disturbing scenes I’ve seen in a film like this.
