I have never felt such empathy for the monster in a horror movie, nor wanted so badly for the protagonists to die slowly, and painfully at their hands.

The jokey title an cheesey cover are belies a much darker film. There are some good ideas and some well executed set pieces but it is long for what it is. Could have been a much leaner film and that would probably have been more effective. The main actors are good (though Eugenie Liu's character is redundant, and was probably only included as enticement) and the take on 'who are the real monsters?' is pretty well handled, given the characters are school children. But the script needed a really good trim.
