In Charleston, South Carolina, in a converted storefront church, Pastor Neezer Bowe is casting the devil from members of his congregation, including a boy named Jeremy. When Bowe presses his palm on Jeremy’s forehead, the boy turns feral, tearing at the pastor’s flesh with his teeth. In the chaos, a Gullah woman named Tetra cries out in Geechee to the Lord for help.
