After Miroku's wind tunnel is damaged in a fight with a demon, Miroku returns to the temple where he was raised by Mushin, but all is not well there.

Kagome and Sango talk about their respective pasts, including Sango's dead younger brother, Kohaku. But Naraku has sinister plans for him.

Sango steals the Tetsusaiga while Inuyasha is fighting Kohaku and heads to Naraku's castle. She intends to kill him, but it won't be that easy.

Sango and Kirara need an antidote for Naraku's poison, so Inuyasha and Kagome head to a village where they meet the gentle horse demon Jinenji.

Inuyasha and his friends come across a cave when they investigate demons in the mountains. Meanwhile, Naraku learns that Kikyo is still alive.

Inuyasha and his friends set off to save Kikyo, but they are vulnerable to demonic attacks. Only Kagome is immune, thanks to the Shikon Jewel.

Sesshomaru is dissatisfied with the Tenseiga sword, and he demands that the blacksmith Totosai forge him another. Totosai calls in Inuyasha.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru continue their battle, making full use of their respective inheritances. After the fight, Sesshomaru meets the orphan Rin.

Koga, the leader of the eastern wolf demon tribe, challenges Inuyasha to a fight after accessorizing himself with shards of the Shikon Jewel.

Inuyasha and the others are on their way to rescue Kagome and Shippo. Kagome agrees to help Koga on the condition that Shippo not be hurt.

Kagome returns to the present after another argument with Inuyasha. Back at school, she's confronted with more relationship problems.

Miroku is reunited with Koharu, a girl who ran away from her village after they met. Then Kagura's older sister Kanna uses Koharu to target Inuyasha.

Inuyasha continues fighting Kagura. Kanna's mirror reveals unexpected capabilities when Inuyasha uses the Wind Scar against her.

Inuyasha demands to know why Kikyo gave the Shikon Jewel shards she stole from Kagome to Naraku, who unleashes a horned ogre demon.

Sesshomaru takes the fangs of the deceased Goshinki to Totosai's renegade apprentice Kaijinbo to make a new sword, while Totosai repairs Tetsusaiga.

Kaijinbo's battle with Inuyasha, wielding the sword Tokijin, ends in destruction, and Kagura senses an opening for Sesshomaru to destroy his brother.

Koga wants revenge on Naraku for the deaths of his tribe members. When Naraku's newest minion Juromaru challenges him, he gets his chance.

Kagome returns to the present after a fight with Inuyasha. Meanwhile, Naraku plots to get rid of Onigumo's feelings for Kikyo within him.

In the present, Kagome senses that Inuyasha has chosen Kikyo, and decides never to return to the past after returning the Shikon Jewel shards.

Sango finds the bodies of her father and the other slayers at the ruins of Naraku's castle. Her brother Kohaku still lives, but he's lost his memory.

Sango's brother Kohaku has been possessed by Naraku and is trying to kill Kagome. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and Miroku continue battling Kagura.

Sesshomaru visits the tree demon Bokusenno seeking the secrets of Inuyasha's transformation. Meanwhile, Sango cares for an unconscious Kohaku.

Inuyasha's life is threatened, and he fully transforms into a demon state. Berserk, he quickly breaks through the cocoon and destroys Gatenmaru.

Inuyasha visits Totosai alone. Totosai tells him that he must slay the great dragon demon Ryukotsusei to become strong enough to lift his sword.

Separated from the Tetsusaiga by Ryukotsusei, Inuyasha transforms into a demon once again. Totosai tells everyone to flee, but Kagome stays.

Shippo meets a girl named Satsuki who believes her dead brother will come back someday. She thinks she has a jewel shard, but it's just a rock.

Miroku and Sango set out to defeat a demon who has taken the form of a beautiful princess to entrap men, but the two become separated in the forest.

Sango leaves the group for a few days to fix her giant boomerang while the others go looking for Nimenka, a demonic tree whose fruit has human faces.

Inuyasha escapes from the bottle gourd with Miroku's help, but it's the night of the new moon and he can't fight Tokajin, who kidnaps Kagome.

After her business in her old village concludes, Sango is waylaid by two sisters, Serina and Suzuna, who want to become her apprentices.

Kagura summons the dark priestess Tsubaki so Naraku can speak to her. Tsubaki was once defeated by Kikyo, and she's willing to listen to Naraku.

Tsubaki takes control of Kagome's body to kill Inuyasha, but Kikyo interrupts her. Later, Inuyasha takes a weakened Kagome to where Tsubaki is.

Tsubaki summons a demon to distract Inuyasha. Still under the curse, Kagome dreams of what her life would have been like if she'd never met Inuyasha.

Tsubaki flees with her jewel shard back to the shrine where she trained. There, she tricks two young priestesses into thinking Inuyasha is the enemy.

As half the group searches for Tsubaki, Miroku and Shippo convince the priestesses that they've been lied to by Tsubaki, who's also unleashed an ogre.

After slaying a centipede demon, Inuyasha and his friends are invited to a banquet. Later that night, Sango is possessed by something or someone.

Naraku's barrier weakens mysteriously, allowing Inuyasha and Koga to hunt him. Koga finds Kagura first, leaving her in a dilemma.

Sesshomaru refuses Kagura's request to kill Naraku. As Inuyasha and his friends search for Kagura, Koga confronts her to regain his jewel shards.

Shippo receives a letter from Soten Raiyu, a child and the last surviving member of the thunder demon tribe. Soten wants to challenge him to a fight.

Kagome returns to the present and tries to catch up on her life. Meanwhile, Naraku expels Onigumo, but the demon turns into a faceless man.

Inuyasha uses his Wind Scar to slice Muso apart, not realizing that Muso can regenerate. Watching, Naraku tells Kagura to confront the group.

Muso regenerates each time Inuyasha attacks him, though Miroku figures out his secret. Before Inuyasha can strike, Kagura interferes.

Inuyasha visits Totosai in search of a technique that can break through Naraku's barrier. There, he meets Bunza, a child lynx demon.

Myoga delivers a message from Totosai, telling Inuyasha that he can gain the ability to break barriers by absorbing the blood of a bat demon.

The bat demon Taigokumaru tries to destroy the village, along with Shiori's mother, while using Shiori's powers to shield himself from Inuyasha.

Inuyasha comes to the present to bring Kagome back. Meanwhile, a group of panther demons approach, seeking Kagome's jewel shards -- and revenge.

Inuyasha slices through the Panthers' barrier with Tetsusaiga, and Inuyasha and Koga make their way into the castle town where Sesshomaru appears.

The panther tribe prepares to sacrifice villagers to resurrect the panther king. When the mummy begins to move, Inuyasha and Sesshomaru attack.

Mouse demon Tesso transforms into a faith healer and chases two-tailed cat demon Kuroro out of the village. Meanwhile, Kirara is mistaken for Kuroro.

A group of demons attack Inuayasha and his friends, and the group is separated. At twilight, Kagome realizes that Izumo has a secret.

Naraku's poisonous bugs show up as Inuyasha and the gang are on their way to visit Jinenji. Sesshomaru goes after the bugs, and Jaken gets stung.

Kirara disappears, and everyone in the group is worried. Shippo wonders if Kirara left because of the way everyone treats her.

Kagome is lured into a cave by a voice calling for help. Inside she meets Kikyo, who has been weakened by the demon using the cave as bait.

After Koga's minions Ginta and Hakkaku quarrel with Koga, they encounter Sesshomaru's group, and desperately try to keep Sesshomaru and Koga apart.

The moth demon Garamaru appears to seek revenge on Inuyasha for his brother's death, trapping Kagome and the others in poisonous cocoons.

Snow is falling unseasonably, and Miroku recalls being rescued from a blizzard by a mysterious woman named Koyuki seven years ago.

A giant ogre named Kyokotsu appears in the northern mountains and attacks the wolf tribe. Koga is determined to avenge his people and heads north.

The ruthless Band of Seven have been resurrected. Inuyasha and the group set out to face them after they decimate a cavalry troop.

Jakotsu and Inuyasha's fight stops when Mukotsu interferes, attacking the group with his stinging poison in order to abduct Kagome.

With Kagome, Miroku and Sango weakened by Mukotsu's poison, Inuyasha tries to draw Ginkotsu, the newest member of the Band of Seven, away from them.

When Inuyasha arrives at the temple he finds Kagome and the others are in an enchanted sleep. He winds up trusting Renkotsu when Ginkotsu returns.

Kikyo meets a doctor named Suikotsu who has a Shikon Jewel shard. Meanwhile, Kagome, Miroku and Sango have stopped breathing, and Inuyasha panics.

Kikyo attempts to solve the mystery of Suikotsu while several members of the Band of Seven attack the town, seeking Suikotsu and his shard.

With his Band of Seven self reawakened, Suikotsu fights Inuyasha personally, but his doctor persona still lives. Meanwhile, Kagome realizes something.

Bankotsu, the leader of the Band of Seven, orders Kohaku to deliver a letter. Inuyasha and his friends are stymied by the barrier around Mt. Hakurei.

The battle between Bankotsu and Inuyasha begins. The rest of the group face the other members of the Seven and Sesshomaru comes to Mt. Hakurei.

Shintaro, the son of a village headman who vanished at a shrine in the middle of a lake, asks Inuyasha and his friends for help finding his father.

With the barrier destroyed, Inuyasha and Bankotsu resume their battle, and Inuyasha is angered that Bankotsu gets Kagome and the others involved.

Outside the Mt. Hakurei barrier, Renkotsu and Ginkotsu attack Koga. Inside the barrier, Sango and Miroku scout the lay of the land.

Kikyo's path crosses with that of Bankotsu, who claims he has no fears about the afterlife. Meanwhile, Jaken and Rin meet Suikotsu on a log bridge.

Suikotsu is unable to kill the village orphans. Sesshomaru is lured within the barrier of Mt. Hakurei, where Suikotsu and Jakotsu confront him.

Renkotsu vows to avenge Ginkotsu's death using his Shikon Jewel shard. Determined to attack Koga, he heads to a cave near a waterfall.

When they reach the summit of Mt. Hakurei, Kagura attacks Miroku and Sango, who risks his life in the fight by opening his Wind Tunnel.

Miroku and Sango come face to face with the Saint Hakushin's mummy on Mt. Hakurei. Meanwhile, Inuyasha evades Renkotsu only to run into Jakotsu.

Inuyasha defeats Jakotsu at last with his Tetsusaiga and hurries to Mt. Hakurei. Meanwhile, Kikyo questions Saint Hakushin about his desires.

Mt. Hakurei's barrier dissolves and Kagome heads there with Koga and the others. Meanwhile, Inuyasha confronts Bankotsu for the final time.

As Inuyasha and Bankotsu battle, Miroku and Sango see a mysterious sight inside the mountain. Sesshomaru and Kikyo sense the strange events from afar.

Naraku gains a new body and is reborn, gathering the Shikon Jewel shards to himself. Inuyasha attacks with the Wind Scar, but to no avail.

With Mt. Hakurei collapsing, Inuyasha goes after Koga while the others try to escape. Meanwhile, Naraku pursues and confronts Kikyo.

Inuyasha leaves his friends behind to search for Kikyo while Kagome and the others arrive at Shintaro's village. There they meet an elderly priest.

Shippo tells Inuyasha that the rest of the group has been captured. Meanwhile the Infant orders Kagura to place a corrupted jewel shard inside Kagome.

Kagome returns to the present, where her school is in the midst of preparations for its festival. In the past, Naraku has all but one jewel shard.

The dried food Kagome brought back from the past turns out to be demons. Inuyasha has to hunt them while Kagome rehearses for her performance.

A young man named Kisuke asks for help from Inuyasha and his friends. A demon named Chokyukai has been luring girls away from his village.

Five young demon fox brothers think Shippo is a hero who has mastered the Wind Scar, and they want to be his disciples.

On their way to a village of women, Inuyasha and his friends meet a young man named Shinosuke who is looking for his fiancée Wakana.

The possessed women of the village surround Kagome, Shippo and Inuyasha. Miroku uses his Sacred Sutras while Inuyasha fights a salamander demon.

A nun named Sara is reincarnated after she dies from an illness. She appears before Sesshomaru, reminding him of when they met once before.

Sara steals the Tetsusaiga, forcing Inuyasha to chase after her to get it back. She recalls the past, but Sesshomaru is disappointed at her actions.

Miroku is shocked to learn that his old teacher Mushin is at death's door. Along with Inuyasha and his friends, he asks Mushin what he can do for him.

The elderly exorcist Haori reappears and asks Inuyasha and his companions for their help destroying an invisible demon committing robberies.

Hoji's ancestor Akitoki is on a journey to dedicate the Hojo family heirloom, the Kenkon Naginata, at a shrine, along with Inuyasha and his friends.

Kagome and Akitoki are separated from the others while Inuyasha battles Hoshiyomi, master of the Kon blade and the ninja demons.

Hoshiyomi keeps Kagome captive in order to unite the Ken and Kon blades. Meanwhile, the four ninja demons confront Inuyasha and his friends.

Hoshiyomi reunites the Kenkon Naginata, but the ghost of his old lover Tsukiyomi possesses Kagome in order to reason with him, revealing their past.

Inuyasha and his friends travel to a village where they learn that Kagura and the Infant have murdered a priest. Next, they find a legendary monk.

Split in two, one half of the Infant transforms into Hakudoshi, Naraku's eighth incarnation, while the horse demon Entei is reunited with its owner.

Inuyasha and his friends meet Kanta, a young otter demon whose father's head was taken by Hakudoshi. He wants to find it and get it back.

Inuyasha goes to visit Myoga, who tells him that he must visit Hosenki in order to travel to the netherworld where his father's grave lies.

Inuyasha and his companions travel toward the Mountain in the Realm of Fire, but when they reach the gate they find that the way is shut.

When the gateway opens, Kagome senses the presence of the Shikon Jewel shard. Meanwhile, Naraku seeks to ally with the phoenix demon Princess Abi.

Kaede recalls how long ago, when she was still an innocent child, her elder sister Kikyo first met the half-demon Inuyasha.

In this continuation of Kaede’s flashback, Kikyo’s love for Inuyasha makes her vulnerable, setting in motion a tragic chain of events.

Princess Abi destroys another village, Kagura searches for Sesshomaru in order to defeat Naraku, and Inuyasha and his friends are looking for a saint.

Kagome and the others wonder if Kikyo is still alive after they find a sacred arrow. Meanwhile, Kikyo confronts Princess Abi at another village.

Kanna hides the Infant in a castle. Meanwhile, Kagome follows Kocho and Asuka to a waterfall basin and finds Kikyo suspended there.

Princess Abi and Queen Tekkei plan to attack a castle that they believe Naraku is protecting, and their paths converge with Kohaku and Kagura.

Princess Abi attacks the castle and finds Kanna and Kohaku there guarding the Infant. Meanwhile, Inuyasha and his friends are on their way.

Kocho and Asuka summon Inuyasha to see Kikyo, who tells him Naraku's plan and gives him a special arrow for Kagome to use when the time is right.

Naraku uses Tekkei's head to travel to the Netherworld. Inuyasha and his friends pursue him, even though they know it's a trap.

Sesshomaru travels to the Realm of Fire thanks to Kagura's guidance. He uses the Tenseiga to defeat the guardians. Meanwhile, Naraku arrives.

Sesshomaru faces off against Naraku, who has stolen the final shard from Hosenki. Hosenki tells Inuyasha to kill him so he can defeat Naraku.

Kohaku and Kagura decide that to defeat Naraku they must kill the Infant. Hakudoshi is ordered to release a swarm of rats to lure Kikyo out of hiding.

Inuyasha, Kagome and Shippo encounter Hakudoshi at the myosei tree, while Miroku and Sango confront Kohaku at the shrine trap for the Zushi rats.

Thinking about Inuyasha's feelings for Kikyo, Kagome goes back to the present without telling him. Inuyasha tells Kaede that Kikyo is still alive.

A group of monks are searching for children who have been kidnapped by an unknown demon. Jaken tells Sesshomaru that Rin has been kidnapped too.

Kirara returns to her home village and fondly recalls her childhood with Sango and Kohaku, who has returned to pay his respects at his family graves.

After Naraku steals an orb from a mountain demon, parasite demon pupas scatter everywhere. Possessed by a parasite pupa, Shippo causes mischief.

The mountain demon Gakusanjin tells Inuyasha and his friends about Naraku's theft of the orb, then gives them a crystal so they can find Naraku.

A monk named Goryomaru marshals child ascetics to slay demons, including Gakusanjin. Inuyasha and his friends hope his temple holds the stolen orb.

Kagura reveals the Infant's secret to Sesshomaru. Hakudoshi brings her back to the temple, revealing the sinister purpose behind Goryomaru's attacks.
