Our take

Austrian-born auteur Fritz Lang’s second Hollywood film is a thrilling, pioneering melodrama with Sylvia Sidney & Henry Fonda. With its great influence on cinematic versions of Bonnie and Clyde, Lang’s taut, romantic masterpiece stands as yet another testament to the great films he made in America.
