Our take

Everyone’s favorite atomic space turtle returns for this first sequel to the giant monster (kaiju) classic. Now granted an A-list production budget, Gamera is subjected to his first peer review when forced into an icy smackdown with the rainbow-emitting reptile and scourge of Osaka, Barugon.
