Admittedly I watched this while cleaning brushes etc. so not with my full attention. That said, it is clearly an ambitious subject and is an honest exploration of three models' experience of being the subjects of life drawing. There are aspects I would have liked to see investigated in more depth, not least the notion of the 'male- and female gaze', also the resonance and similarities between models' and artists' experience - perhaps that would make for a good follow-up. I personally would have prefered a more imaginative use of music and the over-all pace might be a bit slow for some, but none the less it is a valid portrayal and possibly a good introduction for those new to or interested in observational figure-study and drawing from life as part of artistic practice. The overall character of the film is comfortable, sensitive and reasonably reflexive.
