About this movie

Up until a near-fatal crash in 1999, Aaron Baker soared 40-feet in the air on a roaring motocross bike. Now all he wants to do is walk. Weaving through the film’s story of his recovery is the epic challenge he sets himself—to walk across Death Valley unsupported on foot. The day after the crash Aaron was declared clinically dead. Since then he’s reclaimed more than 70% mobility in all four limbs. How did he do it? Given his dire prognosis—that he had a one-in-a-million chance of feeding himself again--Aaron is a living wonder. Especially since after only one year of physical therapy his insurance timed out and he was left stranded and suicidal. It was upon meeting professor and clinical exercise therapist that Aaron that Aaron discovered the simple truth: that movement is medicine. Infusing hope, and retraining Aaron’s body, Aaron and Taylor ventured started a socially conscious low cost disability gym inclusive to all. Together they have helped over 600 people claim movement previously thought impossible. Aaron’s personal journey empathically engages us in the rollercoaster transformational process that all those conquering paralysis must undergo in order to reconnect to life, hope and to a wider community of others also struggling.

I like it! Ok, I'm biased, but I do believe its a refreshing take on the 'come back' story, shedding light on the affect of trauma on not only the individual but also his family and support network. A helpful reminder for most of us not to take movement for granted and encouragement for those that need it.

Truly inspiring movie about our ability to create what we know we can accomplish, and about how we always have the choice to not accept others' prognoses, and to forge ahead with our vision for ourselves. We are powerful creator beings if we take action and trust that we are unlimited.

I thought this was put together very well. It's amazing what mind over matter can accomplish. I love what Aaron is doing with his Core program too!
