About this movie

Sam Elliot drew waves of accolades for his sensitive and sexy portrayal of the aging lifeguard who's compelled to reassess his life and career as a professional lifeguard. To keep things status quo or pursue things status-conscious-that's Elliott's dilemma. It's an agonizing decision compounded on one side by an adoring beach groupie (Breakdown's Kathleen Quinlan) and on the other by a former high school flame (Fatal Attraction's Anne Archer) who's game for rekindling, but only if he's serious about trading in his swimsuits for three -piecers.

Lifeguard was a great movie i rember this back in 1976 .Sam Elliot gave a good perfamce .good supporting cast.by the end it was sad when summer ended. Remember those days going back to school understand what Wendy and Machine gun (Harold) felt.good scenery at the beach makes me feel like wanna go back to the beach.

Excellent movie. What it says is what it's about. I'm a lifeguard and the rescues he performs are the real deal. So dive in and pull someone to shore and watch this flick.

This is the movie I fell in love with Sam Elliott. Okay it might not be his best but it's a great coming of age movie.
