I really liked the first one, because of it's sparse, gritty, dark movement. I did think the Werner Herzog "I-so-cruel-becooz-in-rosshsa-I-have-to-eat-own-fingers-for-food" shtick was a bit much, but over all it had a nice absence ,of corny stupid one-liners. Not so for the sequel, "Maybe I tear your arm off and beat you to death with it" and lines like that deserve the low low low rating that Rotten tomatoes gave it. Questions : do producers, and directors have that level of dialog because they think we are all stupid, or is it because they in fact are stupid?

Bad guys were straight-up caricatures with the main one always wearing the same sinister dark long coat. Could have been a thousand degrees outside, and he's still wearing this coat. And Jack is being followed! No place to hide! Except on the next city bus because he's invisible to the bad dudes there.

Another typical formula written and blandly predictable Tom Cruise as invincible white knight with a family drama twist thrown in. Typical fights, bad guys, and military malfeasance. Add the chaos of Mardi Gras in New Orleans and its a crap wrap. The make up and close up shots of Cruise were good though. He obviously knows very little about women especially teen girls - not an iota of affection in his cold hearted ice figurine of a non-man - and even less about knowing when to call it. Here is a more appropriate title as they ponder another mediocre sequel - Jack Reacher: Never Come Back. Please?
