Look at it this way: LA Confidential was a masterful work of art. This is a scribble. So many levels of utterly pointless, it's impossible to find even one tiny glimmer I could praise. It's so badly done that if it was made with puppets, you'd be able to see the strings. It's overly violent, the characters are flat, carbon copies of each other, none evoking any emotion except boredom; the few women are weak, there's very little diversity and it's got homophobic vibes. Makes real cops look worse than they already do and makes LA look like some place you really never want to visit. Skip this and go with the outstanding Russell Crow, Guy Pierce, Kim Basinger thing instead.

A good cop film. People compare this film with L.A Confidential, but if you do that then of course this film looses. But good acting from the main cast, a good story, funny in places and a enjoyable ride.
