Thankfully I've watched the movie first so I can appreciate it as a piece of cinematography rather than comparing it somewhat woefully to its literary counterpart. I've yet to read the book but I will. As a movie it was very good. My only criticism was seeing Colin Firth cast as a bad guy. Didn't suit him and he just came across as sleazy. Other than this (I do really like Firth btw - Darcy!) I really enjoyed it and would recommend it. Great suspense building thriller.

This film, if you haven't read the book, is immensely suspenseful and will lead you along different roads of suspicion right up until the end. It is a must watch for anyone who like thrillers of even if you don't.

I read the book first, which is a fantastic read, a real page turner. Parts of the story are completely missed out so be prepared. Hubby enjoyed the film for what it was, without knowledge of the authors version.
