About this movie

From director Joe Wright comes “Pan,” a live-action feature presenting a wholly original adventure about the beginnings of the beloved characters created by J.M. Barrie. Peter is a mischievous 12-year-old boy with an irrepressible rebellious streak, but in the bleak London orphanage where he has lived his whole life those qualities do not exactly fly. Then one incredible night, Peter is whisked away from the orphanage and spirited off to a fantastical world of pirates, warriors and fairies called Neverland. There, he finds amazing adventures and fights life-or-death battles while trying to uncover the secret of his mother, who left him at the orphanage so long ago, and his rightful place in this magical land. Teamed with the warrior Tiger Lily and a new friend named James Hook, Peter must defeat the ruthless pirate Blackbeard to save Neverland and discover his true destiny—to become the hero who will forever be known as Peter Pan.

VERY DISAPPOINTED! For someone that has read the complete story (not the very abridged Disney book) by J.M Barrie, my daughter and I were intrigued. However there is very little reference to the actual book. I fear that Barrie would be disappointed too if he saw this movie. I guess it's OK if you've never read the complete unabridged works, but I have a child who is very obsessed with Barrie's world so it was a huge let down to find the film doesn't even make a decent reference to the history of Pan that Barrie made in his book.

This finaly explains why Peter pan has pointy ears on the cartoon version! However I still wonder how he became Captin Hook. The only thing I thought that could be better was Tigerlilly, because she didnt seem like the best choice, as she didn't look like Tigerlilly.

Ignore 4 and 5 star reviews. People who gave this 1 or 2 stars, (thank u Becky Breeden) actually have a brain.
