About this movie

In this psychological thriller from Blumhouse Productions and legendary screenwriter David Koepp (Jurassic Park, Mission: Impossible, Panic Room), Kevin Bacon and Amanda Seyfried star as a couple seeking a restful vacation in a remote home in the Welsh countryside. What at first seems like a perfect retreat distorts into a terrifying nightmare when reality begins to unravel, dark episodes from the past resurface, and a sinister force in the house refuses to let them leave.

NOT A GOOD WATCH ): I had high hopes for the movie given the great track record of the actors, and there is good acting in the movie. BUT the movie itself is just not good. For those who reviewed saying negative reviews are just because they do not get the plot or do not have an open mind.. yea I get the plot, and I went in with an open mind, but unfortunately both me and my date thought it was bad. It does not really have any twists or turns. Definitely not worth 20$ unfortunately. What could have made it better is at the end where he does not want to leave because the house "won't let him", maybe showing them attempting it. Also, the whole movie essentially takes place in the one house and not a whole lot goes on in the house tbh. Also, more foreshadowing during the beginning would have been better, as well as maybe showing a scene with the wife's affair. Or maybe a couple scenes as flashbacks illustrating how his first marriage was bad. The main actor said he let his first wife drown because he was fed up well we don't know why and it is not fun for the audience to just take their word for it.

This movie was horrible first off how it started was so dumb and I didn't know what to think. 2nd I thought his wife was a mistress and that kid was from his last marriage. Then they said the whole town hated him because of his wife death in which they didn't talk about until the end and still didn't say why she died. Then it's this creepy old guy in they dreams I'm still not sure on why he picked that Family. The whole thing is put together wrongfully. And the end sucks dont buy ita

Stop. Do not rent this movie until it is 2.99, AND EVEN STILL, find a promo code first. Not to be cliché but I really won't get that time in my life back. You are better off watching 'Stir of Echoes' again or for the first time if you haven't. Emily paid 20 dollars to rent this garbage for 48 hours. Don't be like me. You have been warned.
