A Soldier's Revenge

How this movie got 4.3 stars is absolutely beyond me! I bet these reviews were bought... seriously! Terrible writing, acting, directing, and sound quality. I had to turn the subtitles on so I could try and keep up! The main character talks so softly that I couldn't hear him and I had it turned up max volume. Of course that meant I was blown away the second any kind of gun or battle played out! The script/ writing was the worst I've come across in a long time, if not ever! For example, the main character has PTSD and one of his ongoing nightmares includes the time he ends up inadvertently shooting a child. Flash forward a few scenes and there are two children knocking on his door, so naturally he pulls them inside and immediately points a gun at them... what?!? Weirder still is that the children seem to mosey up to his place quite casually but then once inside the men chasing/ looking for them don't even seem to be a hundred yards away. This leads to another point... despite slowly moseying up to the main characters house and the children taking their sweet time to dismount their horse, they suddenly seem anxious to get inside and to speak with him but then, even after the aforementioned gun is pulled on them have to be repeatedly asked what their purpose is. In one moment they seem appropriately hurried and in the next they act like they have all the time in the world. Oooookay. A good director would have notices such rapid inconsistencies! The main character then spends quite a good bit of time with these children who've already mentioned their mother many times over and that their mother seems to have known him, his name being one of many on a list she's left for them and even then it still goes on quite a bit longer before the main character finally decides to ask what their mother's name is. Really? If children came to me because my name was on a list left by their mother, the very first thing I'd want to know is the name of their friggin mother! These are just several inconsistencies I noticed throughout maybe five to ten whole minutes of an over two hour long movie! The first hour of this movie drags on so friggin slow it's absurd! They could have easily cut the first hour of this movie down to fifteen minutes without affecting the story whatsoever. Also, the language and some of the sayings/ vernacular sound like they're more from this era than the mid 1860's. Let me put it this way... I have 525 movies in my Google Play collection and this is easily in the top five of the all-time worst! I usually only write reviews to warn people of how bad a movie is! Especially when it has such a high rating. Infact, this having as high of a rating as it does is going to give me some serious trust issues about the ratings going forward. I'd have had more fun lighting myself on fire and running naked through a meth lab... don't say you weren't warned!

That was a total waste of 2 hours I will never get back do not recommend

Actors played there role well. It could be better...
