About this movie

When global warming triggers the onset of a new Ice Age, tornadoes flatten Los Angeles, a tidal wave engulfs New York City and the entire Northern Hemisphere begins to freeze solid. As full-scale, massive evacuations to the south begin, a world-renowned climatologist (Quaid) who predicted the storm just a few days prior, must now risk his life to rescue his teenage son (Gyllenhaal) who is stranded in frozen, desolate Manhattan.

It's curious there are so many detractors of the movie, while these events are currently occurring but without the dramatization and acceleration (read BBC or NatGeo current weather phenom). The movie remains one of the highest rentals of 'near apocalyptic' films to date. It's a great film, and to the intellectually curious (not gamers or zombie film watchers), stimulates thought on how the ocean currents ACTUALLY DO affect the world's weather patterns.

Nows days it seems people can't enjoy a movie as entertainment they are instead more concerned with it being "realistic" than entertaining. This is one of those films that although far from perfect is still fun to watch and I've watched it many times over the years because of this alone. If you want to watch an Oscar worthy film look somewhere else.

3 and a half to 4, Global Warming could be God letting it happen relating to the book of Revelation, or maybe we shouldn't call it Global Warming, maybe it's just a series of events God is letting happen, or it's just a whole end times thing in general, which It seems like God let's happen. It's complicated. But Jesus is our only hope, God Bless, John3:16, 2 Corinthians 5:7, Revelation. Spread the word, pray for me as I pray for you, do it all through accepting our only hope, Jesus Christ. There's overwhelming evidence for God in 2 Corinthians 5:7, The rest of The Bible, etc. Study, dig deep. The truth is God exisisrs and everything that is said about God. (Our God, born again Christian creator) study into it and dig deep.
