About this movie

Henry Fonda, Victor Mature and Walter Brennan co-star in director John Ford's acclaimed film that climaxes with the famous gunfight at O.K. Corral. Fonda plays Wyatt Earp, the former gunslinger who heads west for a peaceful life of ranching. But when tragedy forces Wyatt to become the law in Tombstone, he and his brothers join Doc Holiday for one of the most storied battles of the Wild West.

Good movie if you can overlook the many historical mistakes (some of them huge mistakes). One of the most laughable is having Doc as an MD doing surgery then having him die at the ok corral wearing no boots (he died in a sanatorium a long time later with no boots). Another is having Virgil dying before the fight (when he didn't die in Tombstone at all). There are just too many things wrong but still it's an entertaining movie with an authentic feel to the look of it. So if you can ignore the mistakes it's worth watching and considered by many a classic.

The movie and acting is fine, but what the hell is this story based on, exactly? This is NOT the historical account of these people at all. This story is so far out of left field i stopped watching half-way in.
