About this movie

Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland), Michael Fassbender (Inglourious Basterds) and Academy Award winner Judi Dench (Shakespeare in Love) star in acclaimed director Cary Fukunaga daring new adaptation of the timeless romance. When orphaned governess Jane Eyre (Wasikowska) arrives at imposing Thornfield Hall, she's intrigued by her brooding wealthy employer, Rochester (Fassbender). His dark moods and the strange occurrences in the house lead her to discover a terrible secret that he had hoped to hide from her forever. Critics proclaim this captivating, sensual film is beautiful. A splendid example of how to turn a beloved work of classic literature into a movie." (A.O. Scott, The New York Times)

during the reading the novel I was crying together with Jane...I fell l in love together with Jane...I'm remember 1980 th movie. I love those production, maybe because I was same age like Jane. Costumes, music castle, nature -incredible. much better than 1996 production. still I wanted see more pure and beautiful love and harmony between Jane and Edward. good job anyway.

Meh, there were tons of missed opportunities to write a film that made sense, had a good story, full plot. I was underwhelmed by this film. Too bad. The book is so good!

I can't add much to reviewer Sandra's take. The character development is a new treatment on an already perfect classic. By far the best 'Jane Eyre yet.
