About this movie

More graphically-realistic than ever THE BLOB has returned in this horrific tale about a vile, malignant life-form that crashes to earth in a cozy, rural American town called Arborville. Untroubled by conscience or intellect, the Blob does only one thing-and does it well. It eats anything and everything that moves...men, women, children. And tonight it wants to swallow Arborville whole. The original version of THE BLOB thrilled and terrified audiences back in the 50's. Now the oozing, gooey killer is back with a new high-tech 80's look. What was once only suggested now comes to life in this visually gut-wrenching thriller in the tradition of such classic remakes as "The Thing" and "The Fly".(Original Title - The Blob (1988)) © 1988 TriStar Pictures, Inc. The SFX are outstanding by 80s standards. Showcasing The Blob killing in terrifying ways. Slowly dissolving, digesting its victims. Twisting and melting the human body in the most disgusting ways. Sure, lots of 80s horror movies showcased similar awesome, gory FX but you know what? The Blob does them one better by crafting characters that have quirky personalities and nuances, people that you actually care about. So when the Blob hits the fan, the horror & impact of it all is that much stronger👍

I saw the original B/W movie with Steve McQueen when I was 8 and it scared the hell out of me. I had nightmares for months! Kinda freaked me out like no other movie has.

This is one of the most underrated horror films in my opinion. The pacing and storytelling are phenomenal, the effects outstanding, and it doesn't force anything. The scares and tension build naturally, the characters are really well developed for this kind of movie, and there's never a dull moment.
