About this movie

On the brink of the First World War, The Ottoman Lieutenant tells the story of a strong-willed American woman (Hera Hilmar, Anna Karenina) who, frustrated by ongoing injustices at home, follows an American doctor (Josh Hartnett, Black Hawk Down) to a medical mission in the exotic Ottoman Empire. However, her loyalty to both the doctor and the mission's founder (Ben Kingsley, Schindler's List) is soon tested when she falls in love with their perceived enemy, a lieutenant in the Ottoman Imperial Army (Michiel Huisman, "Game of Thrones"). With the invading army forces at their doorstep and the world about to plunge into war, she soon realizes that the most dangerous place to be during war, is in love. - ( Original Title - The Ottoman Lieutenant )

I read the only 2 Reviews 😌. I have to disagree. I Love this Movie. I 1st watched by myself. 2nd with a good friend. He also liked this movie. It seems it had some true historical experience. But the Love interest she had for the Doctor, is what brought her to other side of the world. Than the way she met her true love. It was Awesome, I felt like I was there, I could feel her Happiness and her Pain. Her compassion for what kept her alive and driven to help all that surrounded her.

Disappointing. Felt like the director took shortcuts. Poor choice for the lead actress. Wanted this to be a good story but woefully fell short.
